The Elevation edition Sierra looks so nice, but is really just a dressed up WT model. They can also be found much cheaper than higher trim models, but is it really worth it to get an Elevation because they look better on the outside? I want shit like wireless charging and remote start, but I like the way these look more.

Also, the Tacoma is having an absolutely massive cabin water leak that nobody can solve and it’s starting to concern me. It also isn’t covered under warranty and I’m worried it’s going to fuck up my electrical bits.

One of my classmates at K-State bought one for his wife our final year of grad school. It’s really just about the perfect DD truck as far as I’m concerned.

Anyone checked the windshield? That was the cause of the leak in my Volvo. The glue on the top of the windshield failed after 3 years and water started pouring in.

Another option would be to rent/ borrow a fog machine and run it in the cab with the windows up. You’ll get a thin layer of glycol all over everything, but you should be able to identify the source of the leak that way too.

They did, but they’re really stupid so they might not have done it properly.

I might, I can’t stand the mildew smell. I literally have 15 air fresheners in it and the smell just won’t go away.

Wireless charging is expensive in cars  IMO. You can get adapters +Mounts for around $50 but I donno how good they are. I personally don’t mind taking 5 seconds to plug in the phone. Also, most new cars you plug in to use Android Auto/Apple car play anyway and I assume it charges it simultaneously.

I would prioritize remote start over wireless charging.

Side note: Man, trucks are so expensive!

Negative, I do have the ugly fsctory roof rack which they reinstalled to try and fix the leak. It didn’t work.

Probably going to have to pull the carpet and pad to get the smell out. Mildew is pretty tough to get rid of.

Yeah I’d go the fog machine route then. They’re pretty cheap on amazon ($60?) but you should be able to rent one.

There’s SLE level Elevation editions out there. Most of the ones on our lot at work at SLEs. SLTs get the All Terrain instead.

While I understand your qualms about features, the features on this truck would make it look like a Rolls-Royce to pickup buyers 20, even 30 years ago. I say it’s a pretty perfect truck.

Is there a drain for water on the cowl? I had water pouring into my Mustang while it was raining once, and it turned there was a hole meant for draining fluid out of the cowl that was clogged.

I think, but I’m not sure. I’ve already paid them a ton of money to fix it, and they haven’t.

They do look good. Most of the fancy stuff I could care less about, but when I do get a new truck someday, it must have factory remote start.

Floor Matt’s suggest clogged sill drains, though I don’t know what’s draining into your sills. There should be rubber plug under the truck, pull one and see how much water comes out. The drains are small gaps about 1-2 mm big near the pinch weld... They clog fairly easy with crud if water is getting in there.

They also removed the carpet, which may have included those. I paid like over $500 for them to steal shit from my truck, give me a door ding and fix nothing.

Check the large grommets where the harness enters the cabin from the engine room. I believe those are both on the passengers and drivers side.

So you put new carpet and pad in but didn’t fix the leak? Or you pulled it and then put the old back in? I meant you may need to get new carpet and pad.
